One Direction: 'Our Moment' Product Review.

Hiiiiii my pretty babes!

Yesterday after work I picked up One Direction's fragrance, 'Our Moment'.  I've been wanting to pick this up for a while, but haven't had time!  So I was excited to see the a store in my local mall, instead of having to drive farther than I had to.

****photo is my own****

I'm pretty sure this was a great decision on my part!  I absolutely love it, so much.  This gift set that I purchased was $65 for a 3.4 oz Eau de Parfum Spray, 5 oz Body Lotion & 5 oz Shower Gel.  The set was valued at $95, so I feel like this was a great deal.  Especially since the 1.7 oz perfume is $50 & the 3.4 oz perfume is $60.  This was DEFINITELY a deal!

I love the scent of this.  It is not overpowering at all, as some fragrances can be.  There is a perfect balance in the fragrance.  During my shower tonight, I decided to use the Shower Gel, & then after Body Lotion.  I was trying to see if the scent would be too overpowering, & I was pleasantly surprised that it was not! The mix of flowers & fruit in this fragrance is a winning combination.  I'm especially happy with the bottle.  I absolutely love the bottle, & find it stunning!

Seriously, I am so upset that I waited so long to purchase this, but I will be continuing to wear this fragrance for a while to come.

My 10 Favorite Ways to Reduce Stress.

Hello pretty babes!

With Midterms coming up, there is bound to be a lot of stress in our lives.  If you're like me, (which I hope you're not) I stress over EVERYTHING.  Not just tests, but EVERYTHING.  At one point, I joked about changing my middle name to "Stress".  HA! But really, I'm always searching for ways to reduce stress, & just feel better overall.

The following 10 tips are just some ideas that I've come to love!

  1. Identify what is stressing you out.
  2. Procrastination.
  3. Control.
  4. RELAX.
  5. Organization.
  6. Learn to say "NO".
  7. Listen to music.
  8. Keep a journal.
  9. Exercise.
  10. Keep a routine.
When you identify what is stressing you out, you know to avoid these, or at least to TRY to avoid them.  This can cause a lot of stress to be relieved.  Avoiding things that cause you great stress can make you happier quite quickly.
Procrastination -- we all have done it at one point in our life.  I know that I like to get things done ahead of time, but when you have so much to do, it is easy to procrastinate with some items.  Not procrastinating is a BIG way to reduce so much stress.  If you don't have to worry about getting something done, why make yourself stressed out?
Know that you cannot control everything around you.  After you realize this, & accept this, I know at least for me this helped lessen the burden of stress very much.  There will always be things you cannot control.  Try painting your nails (this works for me) as a stress reliever.  It helps me reduce stress because I know that I CAN control it.
RELAX. Seriously, say it with me. RELAX. You NEED to relax, & always make time for this.  Even if it is just for an hour or so at the end of the night to wind down.  RELAX.
Organize your priorities.  This will lead to less procrastination, & then lead to less stress.
I am still working on this one.  Learn to say "NO".  I have this thing where I like to please everyone, & find it very difficult to tell someone that I cannot do something for them.  Always working on this.
Throughout the years, music has always been a healer for me.  It has a calming effect & can let you have a good cry.
I've started writing in a journal again, & damn does it feel good.  I write when I wake up, when I find time throughout the day, & before I go to bed.  It has definitely helped me deal with stress every single day that I have written.
Exercising releases endorphins, resulting in HAPPINESS.  You read that right! Happiness!!!! YAY.  We all want to be happy, & when we are less stressed we can be happy! So, exercise, exercise & EXERCISE!!!
I am one of those people who hate to break routine.  Don't get me wrong, I do really enjoy being spontaneous, but when I have a routine that I have followed or am used to, it will always make me feel less stressed & not worry so much.

ALSO, AS LONG AS THIS PHOTO EXISTS, I WILL BE STRESSED & NOT STRESSED AT THE SAME TIME.
***I DO NOT OWN THIS PICTURE***

That is all. Hahaha.

THIS IS US - REVIEW !!

HEY GIRL, HEYYYYY.

Seriously, where do I even begin?!!?

I cannot even explain how much I loved One Direction's film This Is Us.  From seeing parts of the show again, to how the boys act when they are alone together, the entire film was incredible.

The following pictures are some of my favorite scenes of the film:

LIAM AMPING THE CROW UP & CALMING THEM DOWN.

1D TAKING OVER THE WORLD.

LIAM PULLING HARRY'S PANTS DOWN IN CONCERT.

HARRY & NIALL TAKE FOREVER TO PITCH A TENT.
                                                                                                                                                                                  **Pictures are not my own.

If you haven't seen This Is Us yet, I HIGHLY recommend it.  You'll laugh, you'll cry & it will make you feel good.  Even if you're not a fan of One Direction, you will enjoy this film.  Take your Nan, take your Dad.  This Is Us is 92 minutes of pure gold.  Just as they've done before, One Direction has continued to beat records with This Is Us.

I wish the boys nothing but continued success, & can promise I will be seeing this film again... numerous times!

Let me know what you thought of the film! What else would you like to see on my blog?  Also, let me know what you think of the fragrance, Our Moment!

One Direction: This Is Us Premiere, Worldwide Release & What to Wear!

Hola babes!

I hope everyone is doing well!  This is such an exciting time to be a One Direction fan with the fragrance coming out, the VMA's & THIS IS US PREMIERES!  One Direction's This Is Us hits theaters this week.  If you've already seen it from the premieres (especially in London & NYC), I am officially jealous.  A few friends & I have already snagged our tickets for a 7pm showing at our local theater for Thursday! SO EXCITED. (YAY, that's Liam's birthday, too!)  As embarrassing as it sounds, I am contemplating taking a full box of tissues with me! Haha! Don't judge me! ;)

London Premiere

NYC Premiere
**I DO NOT OWN THESE IMAGES

Did everyone watch the live streams of the premieres?! How did you all like them?  I, personally, enjoyed the London one more, but the NYC one was good, too!  It is always great to see how far the boys have come, & to see all the continuous support!  My favorite part of the interviews from today's premiere in NYC was Liam's parents, to be honest.  They are so kind, & so proud.  It was great to see another angle of One Direction, & their parents.  It makes me even more excited for the film!  Another favorite part of mine was when Louis asked one of the interviewer's if her phone was the iPhone 5, because she had a charging case & she let him borrow it for a few moments.  Never a dull moment in One Direction Land, huh?

As for what I'm going to wear, I've been trying to decide.  I admittedly have quite a few One Direction t-shirts, so I will probably choose from one of those.  Comfort is going to be key!  When you're at the movies, you don't want to be uncomfortable since you're sitting for a decent amount of time, so choose your outfit wisely! You're probably going with your gal pals, so enjoy!

Make-up wise, less is probably going to be best in this case.  I've already said I'm most likely taking tissues with me, so waterproof mascara is going to be a godsend, or none at all!

Again, I am SO excited for this film.  It will be great to see another side of the boys & get a more in-depth look of who One Direction really are.  Let me know if you've seen This Is Us already, or if you plan on seeing it!

Keep an eye out for my reaction post, I'm sure it won't be one to miss! ;)

Oh, & P.S. CONGRATS TO ZERRIE (Perrie Edwards & Zayn Malik) on their engagement!! I have never been more excited for them & I wish them nothing but continued love & happiness.

Finals?! In The Summer?!

You read that right.  I have finals.... in the summer.

But!! I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. (YAY)

The past few weeks I have been incredibly stressed out, so today I decided to look up some quotes/pictures dealing with finals that I enjoy.  Some of these made me laugh so I figured I would share a few of them

with you guys for the next time you are studying (ready to give up).. & maybe these can push you to continue & finish strong!

**I do not own any of these images.

I really enjoyed these, & they're helping me deal with the stress of finals!  Hope they can help you, too!

Nailed it.

Hi babĂ¡k!

Sorry for being a bit MIA lately.  Life has been crazy & we all know how that can be.  I'm going to try to be a bit more consistent with my blog! Even if it's a short post here & there. :)

From my last nail post, you know that I am ADDICTED to nail polish & all cosmetics!  Seriously, any time I go anywhere, I MUST get a new nail color or cosmetic product.

About a week ago, I had to pick up a few things at the store & of course, you all know that I HAD to stop in the makeup isles.  I picked up this awesome 410 I lilac you 60 Seconds Nail Polish color from Rimmel London.  Ever since I saw someone wearing this color, I had to have it!

I also picked up an awesome clear polish from Wet 'n Wild, because I had just finished my last bottle & I like to add on a coat of clear polish after painting my nails for a bit of extra shine.

My other addiction that I'm going to let you guys in on, is Chapstick.  Absolutely addicted, must have it on me at all times.  This new one I picked up is called Cake Batter, and is Limited Edition.  It seriously smells like sugar cookies. LOVE IT.

Since I'm a nail polish addict, I had to try my new color right away.  Let me just say, I am in LOVE.  Honestly, this is my new favorite color & polish.  The color comes on so smooth & it is amazing how quickly it dries.

If you haven't tried out Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish, you really need to.  It definitely is a top contender in polishes, in my opinion.  This polish was only $1.50, well worth it.  My Wet 'n Wild polish was $0.97 & the Chapstick was $0.98.  So in total for these three awesome products, I paid under $4!

I know I am definitely going to be picking up some more of these Rimmel London polishes!  If there are any products you would like for me to review, let me know!  Also, if there are any products you love & want to share feel free to leave a comment!

Blackheart Nail Polish & Lipstick Review!

Hola my loves!

My last post was about my awesome haul from Hot Topic's Blackheart cosmetics.  Seriously, if you haven't checked out the rockin' sales going on at Hot Topic right now, you're missing out!  Even if you think the store isn't for you, I'm pretty sure anyone can find something they'll like in there!  The styles of Hot Topic are definitely evolving.

So, anyway.. I'm going to review these 4 products for you guys!

1st - The first product I tried from this haul was the Violet lipstick.  Before I put on any lipstick, I always use chapstick.  This makes this lipstick come on a little light, so I put on a few coats.  I'm not just saying this, but I am ABSOLUTELY in love with this product.  The color is gorgeous, especially if you're looking to stand out.  It looks great with only one light coat, but also with two or three.  I know I will be wearing this color a lot in the future.

Violet

2nd -  I tried the Violet Tendencies nail polish next.  I put a coat on and let it dry to see how the color comes on.  I like my nails to be bold so I added at least two more coats, and was left with an amazing shade of deep purple.  I think the bit of blue/purple glitter in the nail polish adds to the appeal!

Violet Tendencies

3rd - The third product I tried was the Teal Glitter nail polish.  This polis would be great for any occasion.  You can put one thin coat on, or put a few on for a more bold look.  I enjoyed the color a lot & would definitely recommend it!

Teal Glitter

4th - Finally, the fourth product from my hail was the Razor's Edge nail polish.  This polish went on smooth & looked very pretty.  The only downfall was that you definitely need a top coat because it chips easier than most polishes.  Other than that, I love it!

Razor's Edge
Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase that only totaled $7.38 that could have been over $20.  If you are looking for some fun new colors for cosmetics, definitely hit up Hot Topic. Don't be afraid, or judge the store from what you think you know.  Like I said before, the style is evolving so much, you make be surprised at the selection.

As always, feel free to leave a comment/question!

PS. I just wanted to say Happy 20th Birthday to the BEAUTIFUL & TALENTED Perrie Edwards from Little Mix! My fashion icon & inspiration.

What's in my bag? Festival edition.

GOOOOD NIGHT. OR AFTERNOON. OR MORNING. ;)

In my last post I talked about festivals & what to do & not to do &, I figured I could maybe branch off of that.  So I've decided to put together a "What's in my bag?" post that can give you an idea of what you should take with you!  Since I will be attending Warped Tour in a little under a month, it will help me keep track of what I need to get, too!

  1. SUNSCREEN & EXTRA HAIR TIES --> Sunscreen will be your savior.  After being in the sun all day, who wants to resemble Sebastian from The Little Mermaid? (I put two SPF 50's on here because I use SPF 100, oops!) If you're like me, your luck is not very good, so just in case, definitely pack extra hair ties! I end up breaking at least one of these bad boys per week.
  2. MONEY --> You're going to want to purchase merch while there so why not be prepared?!  I usually end up taking between $50-$100.
  3. WATER --> I honestly feel like this could be numero uno because it is SO important that you keep hydrated while in the sun all day.. as if I didn't stress this enough in my last post! I think Warped Tour (unsure of other festivals at the moment) has a free station where you can fill your water bottle for free! You can also take in (at most venues) 1 SEALED bottle of water.  Definitely do this because then you can even keep filling that bottle, especially since most venues will remove the cap before giving you the bottle when you purchase it there.
  4. CELLPHONE --> Make sure your battery on your phone is fully charged, that way if you get separated from your friends you can get ahold of them!  + It will be good for you to be able to keep track of the time so you don't miss any bands!
  5. SUNNIES --> It's going to be hot.  You're going to be in the sun.  Just do yourself a favor & remember sunglasses!  There may be a vendor inside the festival that will be selling them though, by why spend your money on something you already have?  One year, Tilly's passed out free sunglasses! It was pretty cool of them.
  6. NOTEPAD & PEN --> If you want to get an autograph or, you can use this to write down the times of the bands you want to see & where they will be playing.  Hey, maybe you'll find a cutie & want to give them your number! ;)
  7. FRUIT SNACKS --> These are awesome to keep in your bag if you can't get your hands on food right away.  I always keep at least two packs in my purse whenever I go anywhere.
  8. CHAPSTICK --> I am addicted to Chapstick, ABSOLUTELY addicted. I apply it way too often.  Not only is it good to keep with you so your mouth will not feel as dry, but most Chapsticks will also protect your lips from the sun! (How cool is that?.. okay you might not think it is very cool, but the Chaptsick nerd in me does!)
  9. DISPOSABLE CAMERA --> I like having a disposable camera with me just because there is kind of a mystery in your pictures.  You don't know what the picture will look like until you get the pictures developed.  This is just a suggestion though, I know they're not for everyone!
  10. WET WIPES --> You will be sweaty, you will get dirty.  This is just a simple way to clean off & freshen up throughout the day.  By the end of the long day, these babies may very well be your BFF.

The products in the set above are:
  • Banana Boat Sport Performance Lotion Sunscreen Set with SPF 50 - 2 Pack.
    • About $15 for the 2 pack at Target.
  • Goody Ouchless Neon Elastics 29ct
    • About $4.50 for 29 at Target.
  • Dasani water
    • $2 or $3 at your local grocery shop or gas station.
  • The sunnies I've picked out are: Vintage Inspired Round Circle Cat Eye Sunglasses 8785
    • These are about $10 from ZeroUV.
  • The notepad is Vera Bradley Pocket Papers , and the pen can be any pen!
    • The notepad is about $9 & pens can be very cheap!
  • You can get Chapstick from your local Target or Walmart.
    • These will honestly cost you about $1, unless you're looking to get fancy.
  • Any fruit snacks.
    • These will be about $4 or so per box.
  • The disposable camera is from Urban Outfitters.
    • It costs about $14, but you can get a cheaper one from like CVS or a shop like that.
  • H&M 10-pack of wet wipes.
    • These will cost you about $2
  • The wallet is a Betsey Johnson Americana Zip Around Wallet that I LOVE.
    • It is a bit steep in price at $68, though.
  • The bag is from Hot Topic! It's the perfect size for a festival.
    • It costs around $27, but it's totally worth it.
Again, these are just some friendly suggestions to get you started.  :)  Like I always say, my word isn't the Bible.  I know these products are what I will be taking this year!  If you want to see any other alternatives, or would like to add anything leave a comment!

Festival, Bestival

It's summer, so we all know what that means...

TIME FOR FESTIVALS!

If you couldn't tell, festivals make me EXTREMELY happy.  I love the entire experience & environment of being at a festival.  From Coachella & Bonnaroo, to the Vans Warped Tour & British Summer Time 2013, there are so many great festivals to attend!  Countless opportunities can stem from going to festivals, too.  For the past three years, I have been able to volunteer at the Vans Warped Tour & have met some incredible people along the way.  Honestly, if you love going to Warped Tour & enjoy volunteering, it is definitely something to look into!

Here's a picture of me volunteering at Warped Tour in 2012!

If you've never attended a festival, I've decided to put together some DO's & DON'Ts of festivals!  Even if you have attended a festival, maybe these can help you refresh your memory.

DO's:

  • CLOTHES ARE GOOD.  KEEP THEM ON.
         - Yes, we all know it CAN & most likely WILL get hot.  That is no excuse to just wear a bikini, or wear a bra & underwear.  (PS. I HATE THE WORD PANTIES. SERIOUSLY.  NOT SURE WHY, BUT I DO.)  I've seen way too many people dressed in little clothing at festivals & I promise you, people will be making fun of you (as harsh as that sounds).  No one wants to see it, so do everyone a favor & keep clothed!
  • KNOW THE MUSIC & MUSICIANS.
         - When attending a festival (or any concert for that matter) PLEASE know at least 5 or more artists performing.  I promise you will have more fun this way! Even if you only know a few, you will still have fun seeing an artist you like perform.  Not saying you can't discover new artists at festivals, because that's the best place for that, but if you know some it will be an overall more rewarding experience.  Also, a big tip.. DON'T ACT LIKE YOU KNOW ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DON'T, PEOPLE CAN TELL & IT PROBABLY WILL NOT BE FUN FOR YOU! (I've witnessed this, not pretty!!)
  • PACK APPROPRIATELY.
          - Be prepared for any situation.  Mother Nature is one crazy lady, it can be sunny one minute & rainy the next.  If you're going for more than one day, make sure you have enough clothes for the entire stay, but DON'T pack too much.
  • HAVE A TRAVEL PAL.
          - Festivals are always more fun with a friend!  Plus it will be safer & you can always have someone to keep watch when you use the restroom!
  • HELP OUT OTHER PEOPLE.
          - If you see someone who is alone, be nice & make a friend!  I always go with my one friend to concerts & festivals & by the end of the night there's always more people with us than when the night began.  The more the merrier, right?
  • PREPARE FOR TRAFFIC.
          - There's going to be hundreds of people, that means hundreds of cars, which means TRAFFIC.  No point in being in a hurry to get out of there, take the time to relax & enjoy the last minutes of the night.  But if you ARE in a hurry, you're going to want to leave a little early to beat the traffic.  (This is for entering, as well as exiting.)
  • USE SUNBLOCK.  A LOT OF IT.
          - You're going to be spending all day out in the sun & if you're pale like me (they did try to white balance cameras off of me in school) you're going to want to apply sunscreen every few hours.  I use SPF 100, as sad as it sounds.
  • HAVE FUN & TAKE PICTURES!
          - Enjoy yourself, you're there to have fun!  Meet new people, make new memories.  Take pictures so you can remember what happened later.  You'll definitely want to upload pictures to Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook & even Twitter so you can make your other friends who turned you down jealous!

DON'Ts:
  • THE WORLD IS YOUR RUNWAY.
         - Don't be afraid to take some fashion risks.  Go ahead & wear neon with animal print.  You rock that flower crown & fannypack, girl.  I can guarantee you will not be the only one, so wear it proud.  Just as long as you remember my #1 & DO wear clothes. ;)
  • KEEP THE LARGE BAGS AT HOME.
         - If you're only going for one day, only take the necessities.  You're not going to want to carry a huge bag around all day.  It's likely going to get annoying.
  • LEAVE THE PROFESSIONAL CAMERA AT HOME.
          - I know you're proud of your $1,000 camera, but when it's broken you're just going to be sad.  Take a disposable, cheap digital camera, or just use your phone.  It's safer & you'll be happy just losing or breaking that disposable camera instead of your expensive one.
  • OVERLOAD YOUR MAKEUP.
          - SAY IT WITH ME, "Raccoons are animals, not girls."  Please, pLEASE, pLeAsE, PLEASE, I am begging, wear minimal makeup.  I cannot tell you how many girls I have seen that have applied WAY too much make up for an all day, outdoor festival when it is 90 degrees out.  By 2pm, those girls are looking like crazies! Do yourself the favor of applying minimal makeup because there is little upkeep & you'll be happy for that!
  • BE "THAT GIRL", THE GROUPIE.
          - Yes, it is exciting when we meet our favorite band/musician, but they DO have other things to do while at festivals.  They're most likely going to be very busy.  I'm not saying you can't say 'hi' or even ask for a picture, but don't embarrass yourself by following them or hanging around them all day.  (Unless they invite you to, in which case, THIS IS WHERE HAVING A PAL COMES IN HANDY.  PLEASE TAKE YOUR FRIEND WITH YOU.)
  • SAY "I'M POOR".
          - You paid how much to get in?  You're obviously not poor.  I constantly catch myself saying, "But, I'm a poor college student."  It's extremely annoying, & people are just going to tell you to move on.
  • DRINK TOO MUCH.
          - I can't tell you to not drink at all since I'm not your mother, but it would honestly be wise to limit your alcohol intake.  ALCOHOL + HEAT = NOT A GOOD TIME.  Trust me, I know.  You'll thank me later when you see people passing out or making complete idiots of themselves.
  • FORGET TO KEEP HYDRATED.
          - There is a reason water is 50-75% of our bodies.  WATER IS YOUR FRIEND.  Drink water at any chance you can get.  I know your thinking, "But if I drink so much water, I'm going to have to constantly use the restroom."  This isn't true! I thought the same thing my first time at a festival, but then soon realized it is SO hot out, you will be excessively sweating.  Trust me, you'll be fine!

So, that's my list of festival DO's & DON'Ts!  I hope it helps even just one person when preparing for a festival.  Remember, this is only my opinion, it's not the Bible. :) If you have anything to add, or have any questions, feel free to leave a comment!

Live a little, Love a lot.
